About Us
Rob McKay founded AssessAdvantage in 2000 after gaining a BA in Business Psychology and an MA(Hons) in Industrial & Organisational Psychology from Massey University. Rob’s the author of “No More Square Pegs” plus several eBooks, dozens of articles, plus his weekly podcasts at Tipsforhiring. Rob has been successfully advising New Zealand and Australian companies in recruitment assessments and solutions for over 20 years, and has a solid base of general business knowledge in an industry that was very dependent on ‘people performance’.
Justin Tye and Andrew Bain joined AssessAdvantage as Directors in 2018. They started working together in 1990 firstly at Hewlett-Packard, and then in 2002, founded Exeed Limited, now New Zealand’s 2nd largest IT distributor. This combination of working for a large multinational and a New Zealand-owned start-up offered Andrew and Justin both extensive HR and people management training. They have first-hand experience in the challenges of talent sourcing, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
Sheryl Logan joined the team in 2023 as a working shareholder. Her career in the IT industry began with Harvey Norman where she discovered her love for both technology and people, she became Australasia’s youngest Harvey Norman Franchisee before moving to Bendon as a Regional Manager, then returning to IT as a senior BDM for HP and Samsung. Her passion for coaching and team leadership has helped her to attract, hire and retain top talent throughout her career. Sheryl is dedicated to transforming the recruitment process and helping businesses hire smarter to build successful organisations.
Monique Larmer has over 21 years’ experience working in senior Vendor and Distributor roles in the IT industry. Building on her extensive channel experience, Monique spent the last 7 years at Westcon Comstor in senior sales and management roles. Monique has also been recognized for Channel Excellence at the ARN IT industry awards recognising her resilience and passion for the industry. Seeking a new challenge, Monique relocated her family to Queenstown to focus on what she loves most, helping people and businesses grow. Now a working shareholder at Assess, Monique is dedicated to helping organisations succeed by using our range of tools to help companies hire faster and smarter.
